Passage Adventures: Paddling for a Cleaner Ocean

L M PassageIt's the Final Countdown! Australians Lucy Graham and Mathilde Gordon have been kayaking since May from Juneau, Alaska to Vancouver Island, Canada. For Lucy, having done various multi-day paddles before, kayaking the Inside Passage has been a life-long dream. For Mathilde, who has had little kayaking experience, this is an exciting leap out of her comfort zone. The girls want to experience new places, take on the elements, connect with nature, challenge themselves and have fun!

They have used the 3-month-long paddle to raise awareness of marine debris issues, fundraise for those fighting for ocean protection and conservation and inspire others. The girls have both been living single-use plastic free since the beginning of 2016, and took their plastic free challenge to the next level by also paddling the Inside Passage single-use plastic free.

They have just 6 days left of paddling, planning to arrive at their finish point on August 4th. Help them hit the $20,000 mark before their boats hit the last shore after more than 2000km of kayaking! All proceeds go to Tangaroa Blue and Living Oceans Society, to run more beach clean-ups and use data collected to tackle marine debris and stop it at the source.
