On Wednesday November 5th, Tangaroa Blue joined MacKillop Catholic College for a clean-up along a section of Busselton foreshore. The Yr 10 students were fulfilling their community service requirements for the year and enjoyed the opportunity to get out of the classroom.
We removed over 100kg of rubbish from the foreshore area, the majority of the weight compromising pieces of bitumen (asphalt) from old roads and pathways in the area that have been eroded as the ocean has encroached on the shoreline.
Students then collated all data for submission into the Australian Marine Debris Database.
