The Brisbane Waters Secondary Collgege Bushcraft team from Woy Woy Campus was back on the water with the Brisbane Waters Foreshore Clean Up Program to remove litter from the Northern Foreshore in Sandbrook Channel (Long Island) to mark August 1st.

There was a large amount of litter present, which is very consistent of residential dumping. Foam mattresses, large foam pieces, bedding, plastic tables, steel drums, milk crates, marine ply, fuel drums, gas bottles and masses of plastic bottles and bags were all present.
27 large bags were filled, plus bulk items which were all taken by trailer to Woy Woy tip. A total of 580kgs of litter was removed by the volunteers who then enjoyed a swim at Rocky Ponds and a BBQ at Rob Moxham’s to complete the windy cold day.
