Last weekend we held five of the six flagship events for the Great Barrier Reef Clean-up in the Wet Tropics, Burdekin, Mackay Whitsundays, Fitzroy and Burnett Mary NRM Regions, with the final event happening later in October on Badu Island in the Torres Strait.
Over 300 volunteers showed their love for the reef this weekend and turned out to protect the coastline and islands by removing almost 3 tonnes of rubbish from our shores.
Let’s keep the momentum going! The Great Barrier Reef Clean‐up series runs throughout October, and there’s still time to register your own site. Get a group together, identify a beach or waterway in your area that needs some love, and register your site by clicking below. There’s still time to receive clean-up kits for those events that will be held later this month.
We look forward to making you part of the ReefClean crew!
