When: Saturday 7th October, 2023
Time: 8am – 3pm
Register: Numbers are strictly limited so please RSVP by 25th September 2023 email@example.com.
Meet at Keppel Bay Marina (Waterline Restaurant side) to travel on the Gundoo Spirit departing at 8am sharp. Return time is approximately 3:00pm. Lunch provided. BYO Snacks and drinks.
This trip is going to be extra special as we have the opportunity to learn about the Biocultural values of Woppaburra Sea Country from Woppaburra TUMRA representatives.
We will be beach hopping around Keppel Bay island group, collecting marine debris and bringing it back on board the Gundoo Spirit.
Volunteers need to wear enclosed shoes, bring sun/rain protection, and plenty of drinking water (1 to 2 litres is recommended). We try to ensure that all events are free from single-use plastic, so bring along your reusable water bottle. All equipment and drinking water top-ups will be provided.
We would like to acknowledge the Woppaburra and Darumbal people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we will be meeting for this event.
Thank you to Livingstone Shire Council and the Konomie Island Environmental Education Centre for their support to make this event happen as well as our supporters.
ReefClean is funding by the Australian Governments Reef Trust and delivered by the Tangaroa Blue Foundation.
