Over 50 people attended a ‘how to’ presentation and clean-up activity at Hilary’s Beach as part of the 2016 Bush and River Rangers Conference, held at Ern Halliday Recreation Camp in Perth. Ranger instructors were shown how to safely prepare and coordinate beach clean-ups, during the hands on practical 1,100 items of rubbish were removed from the beach and the information has been compiled and recorded into the Australian Marine Debris Database. Feedback was very positive and a number of instructors have signed up to coordinate clean-ups as part of the WA Beach Clean up event to be held over the weekend of October 15 & 16.
