Thank you to all volunteers and the Port Douglas Coast Guard for helping out at Cape Kimberley for the Great Northern Clean Up today in Far North QLD!
We removed 5683 items from the beach, weighing 442.7kg! Thanks to Sha and Pete for their quad bike!
This included 1710 bits of plastic, 1112 plastic water bottles, 219 thongs, 253 food wrappers, 820 bits of foam, 63 cans, 625 lids and bottletops, 73 rope scraps and 33 lighters!!
With more than 80% of the marine debris collected being made of plastic, we urge everyone to think about what plastics they use everyday and try to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Refuse! We can all make a difference!!!
